For some of my friends, I'm the learning guy, who knows why....
But the thing is, they keep asking for advice related to their kid's
education learning journey. They know the education system is broken, but don't know what alternatives are out there.
I don't believe in silver bullets. I follow a radical diversity approach, so, rather than talking about a method or school, I decided to put together a page with assorted quotes, videos, schools, books, etc.
The main idea for this page is to be a starting point, and it's a work in progress. The curious minds will follow through.
I'm far from being an expert in kids' learning, but I have a broad view of the learning space, and I'm always eager to bounce some ideas off about the topic.
“The illiterate of the future are not those who can’t read or write but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.” — Alvin Toffler
“You cannot get educated by this self-propagating system in which people study to pass exams, and teach others to pass exams, but nobody knows anything. You learn something by doing it yourself, by asking questions, by thinking, and by experimenting.” — Richard Feynman
“The essential thing is that in order for a child to understand something, he must construct it himself, he must re-invent it.” — Jean Piaget

The Beginner's Guide to Unschooling - zen habits
Post written by Leo Babauta. There's nothing I get asked about more as a parent than unschooling, and nothing I recommend more to other parents. It's an educational philosophy that provides for more freedom than any other learning method, and prepares kids for an uncertain and rapidly changing future better than anything else I know.

Cognitive Learning: How to Use It, Benefits and Examples
Cognitive Learning Theory is a useful theory for looking at education in a modern way, which focuses not just on the student's ability to repeat the information they have been taught, but instead asks why and how a student was able to learn, and what their innate mental processes and previous life experiences had to do with that learning.

Experiential learning (ExL) is the process of learning through experience, and is more narrowly defined as "learning through reflection on doing".
